A solar energy firm, BeebeeJump Int’l LTD, has provided over 300,000 homes in Nigeria with solar energy.
The Chief Sales Officer of BeebeeJump, Timmy Shi, disclosed this at the ongoing Nigeria-Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Shi said, “We have provided over 300,000 homes with solar systems so far. Our production capacity for inverters and batteries in our factory in Lagos is 5,000 monthly. Which means 30,000 households will benefit monthly from solar systems in our factory.
“We want to support more individuals in rural areas and low income earners, but we are going through the government. Recently, we signed an MoU with the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu, to provide 30,000 homes with solar power systems. And with our instalment mode of payment, people can pay for one to two years to get solar energy to their homes.”
The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arch Olamilekan Adegbite, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the summit, said Nigeria was moving towards clean and renewable energy.
He, therefore, urged African countries to collaborate and pull resources together to provide power and clean energy to their vast populations.
