There should be greater emphasis on off grid solutions in order to ensure the decentralization of the power sector,\u201d said Yusuf.<\/p><div id=\"pscso-988180010\" class=\"pscso-content-3 pscso-entity-placement\"><div class=\"pscso-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pscsolaruk.com\/rfq\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pscsolaruk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/6tp7s.png?resize=710%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>He added, \u201cThe current model of high dependence on the national grid has not worked well to serve the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe country is too vast for the highly centralized regime of national grid. The continued ownership and control of the transmission component of the power supply chain is also a challenge to grapple with.<\/p><div id=\"pscso-1673521834\" class=\"pscso-cybertron pscso-entity-placement\"><div class=\"pscso-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\r\nzone = \"30\";\r\npl = \"2226\";\r\nurl = \"https:\/\/cybertronads.com\/platform\";\r\n\/\/--><\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/cybertronads.com\/platform\/show.js\"><\/script>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe should ensure the rapid promotion of renewable energy solutions through the enactment of policies that will make it more affordable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe current high cost of acquiring renewable energy installation has been a major impediment to the access of this energy solution. For instance, the cost of <a href=\"https:\/\/pscsolaruk.com\/blog\/the-bright-future-of-solar-energy-in-africa\/\">solar<\/a> panels and batteries are very prohibitive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPPE boss emphasized the need for the Federal Government to remove duty and taxes on renewable energy sources like solar equipment and inverters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said, \u201cWe submit that import duty and taxes on solar equipment, solar batteries and inverters should be scrapped to improve access to renewable energy solutions. The implementation of the energy mix programme of the government needs to be accelerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI believe the government still needs to provide generous fiscal incentives for investors in the sector because of the economic development and social impact of an improved power sector performance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yusuf lamented that the power sector reforms of 2013 has not delivered the desired result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the expectations of Nigerians were not met by the privatization process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said, \u201cThe entire experience has given privatization a bad name.
