The same customer later received an email telling him he would be receiving a new contract with the price hiked to $75,000 plus $35,ooo for the battery &#8211; a 69% increase.<\/p><div id=\"pscso-1625315282\" class=\"pscso-content_2 pscso-entity-placement\"><div class=\"pscso-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pscsolaruk.com\/rfq\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pscsolaruk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/6tp7s.png?resize=710%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \">Tesla has a solar panel installation programme that sits alongside its larger electric vehicle business. It offers two products, regular solar panels, which go on top of a customer&#8217;s roof, and the &#8220;Solar Roof,&#8221; which replaces a customer&#8217;s roof tiles with solar energy cells.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \">&#8220;We have increased the price of Solar Roof and have added adjustments for individual roof complexity,&#8221; the email said. It added the customer would be able to cancel his order and get his deposit refunded, and said Tesla would be &#8220;prioritizing customers based on the order in which they accept their updated agreements.&#8221;<\/p><div id=\"pscso-3071756330\" class=\"pscso-content-3 pscso-entity-placement\"><div class=\"pscso-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pscsolaruk.com\/rfq\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pscsolaruk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/6tp7s.png?resize=710%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \">This followed a report from\u00a0<a id=\"82f32842-344d-3739-a66f-ca95fa6a45f9\" href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/04\/11\/tesla-hikes-solar-roof-price-on-contracts-signed-over-a-year-ago\/\">Electrek\u00a0<\/a>this weekend that multiple Tesla Solar Roof customers had received the same email. Some of these customers had signed contracts over a year ago and been waiting for the installation, before being told they would have to pay more money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \">One customer showed Electrek documents that they had agreed to a price of $77,000 nine months ago only to be told this week that the price is now $118,870.<\/p><div id=\"pscso-1455832787\" class=\"pscso-cybertron pscso-entity-placement\"><div class=\"pscso-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\r\nzone = \"30\";\r\npl = \"2226\";\r\nurl = \"https:\/\/cybertronads.com\/platform\";\r\n\/\/--><\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/cybertronads.com\/platform\/show.js\"><\/script>\r\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \">Some had also already spent thousands of dollars in preparation, having trees cut down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hyphenate \"><a id=\"0ffaebdb-743f-3e05-a85f-49cb334b712f\" href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/03\/29\/tesla-drastically-increases-price-solar-roof\/\">Electrek\u00a0<\/a>reported on March 29 that Tesla had dramatically increased its prices for its Solar Roof product. After receiving tips from customers, the publication compared a quote it had received for a 3,947-square-foot roof last summer by running the details of the same roof through Tesla&#8217;s price calculator.
